ISO 1874-2:2006 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used in determining the properties of polyamide moulding and extrusion materials. Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before testing are given.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods that are suitable and necessary to characterize polyamide moulding and extrusion materials are listed.
Kunststoffe - Polyamid (PA)-Formmassen für das Spritzgießen und die Extrusion - Teil 2: Herstellung von Probekörpern und Bestimmung von Eigenschaften (ISO 1874-2:2006)
Dieser Teil von ISO 1874 legt die Verfahren zur Herstellung von Probekörpern und die zur Bestimmung der Eigenschaften von Polyamid-Formmassen für das Spritzgießen und die Extrusion anzuwendenden Prüf¬verfahren fest. Anforderungen an die Behandlung des Probematerials und an das Konditionieren des Probe¬materials vor der Herstellung der Probekörper und der Probekörper vor der Prüfung sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Verfahren und Bedingungen für die Herstellung der Probekörper und Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Eigenschaften der Formmassen, aus denen die Probekörper hergestellt werden, sind angegeben. Eigen¬schaften und Prüfverfahren, die anwendbar und notwendig sind, um Polyamid-Formmassen für das Spritz¬gießen und die Extrusion zu charakterisieren, sind aufgelistet.
Die Liste der Eigenschaften enthält zunächst allgemein gültige Prüfverfahren, wie sie in ISO 10350 1 festge¬legt sind. Andere weithin gebräuchliche Prüfverfahren oder solche von besonderer Bedeutung für diese Formmassen, wie die kennzeichnenden Eigenschaften aus Teil 1 dieser Norm (Viskositätszahl und Zug Elastizi¬tätsmodul), sind in diesen Teil von ISO 1874 aufgenommen.

L'ISO 1874-2:2006 spécifie les méthodes de préparation des éprouvettes et les méthodes d'essai à appliquer pour déterminer les propriétés des matériaux polyamides pour moulage et extrusion. Elle indique les exigences requises lors de la manipulation du matériau d'essai, ainsi que lors de conditionnement dudit matériau avant moulage et des éprouvettes avant l'essai.
L'ISO 1874-2:2006 précise les modes opératoires et les conditions nécessaires à la préparation des éprouvettes, ainsi que les modes opératoires de mesure des propriétés des matériaux à partir desquels ces éprouvettes sont fabriquées. Elle fournit également une liste des propriétés et des méthodes d'essai appropriées et nécessaires à la caractérisation des matériaux polyamides pour moulage et extrusion.

Ta del standarda ISO 1874 določa metode za pripravo preskušancev in preskusnih metod za uporabo pri ugotavljanju lastnosti poliamidnih materialov za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje. Podane so zahteve za ravnanje s preskusnimi materiali in obdelavo preskusnega materiala pred oblikovanjem ter preskušancev pred preskusom. Podani so postopki in pogoji za pripravo preskušancev ter postopki za merjenje lastnosti materialov, iz katerih so preskušanci izdelani. Navedene so lastnosti in preskusne metode, ki so primerne in nujne za opredelitev poliamidnih materialov za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje. Lastnosti so bile izbrane na podlagi splošnih preskusnih metod iz standarda ISO 10350-1. Druge preskusne metode, ki se splošno uporabljajo ali so posebej pomembne za te materiale za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje, so prav tako vključene v ta del standarda ISO 1874. Vključene so tudi označevalne lastnosti, ki so navedene v standardu ISO 1874-1 (viskoznostno število in natezni modul elastičnosti).

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.

1 Scope
This part of ISO 1874 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used
in determining the properties of polyamide moulding and extrusion materials. Requirements for handling test
material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before testing are
given.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of
the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods that are suitable
and necessary to characterize polyamide moulding and extrusion materials are listed.
The properties have been selected from the general test methods in ISO 10350-1. Other test methods in wide
use for, or of particular significance to, these moulding and extrusion materials are also included in this part of
ISO 1874, as are the designatory properties (viscosity number and tensile modulus of elasticity) found in
ISO 1874-1.

3 Preparation of test specimens
3.1 Treatment of the material before moulding
Before processing, the material sample shall have reached room temperature.
Before processing, the moisture content of the material sample shall not exceed 0,2 % (mass fraction) in the
case of PAs having a viscosity number u 200 ml/g, and shall not exceed 0,1 % (mass fraction) in the case of
PAs having a viscosity number > 200 ml/g. For PA46, PA6T/66, PA6T/XT, PA6T/6I/66, PA6T/6I, PA6I/6T and
PA NDT/INDT, the moisture content shall be less than 0,1 % (mass fraction).
