Ta evropski standard določa zahteve in opisuje metode za načrtovanje, namestitev, preskušanje in vzdrževanje naprav za gašenje požara s peno z majhno, srednjo in veliko espanzijo. Ta evropski standard podaja vodilo za načrtovanje različnih naprav s peno, ki so na voljo osebam z znanjem in izkušnjami pri določanju izbire naprav za gašenje požara s peno, ki bodo učinkovite pri varovanju določenih nevarnih konfiguracij. Ta evropski standard ne zajema analize tveganja, ki jo izvede usposobljena oseba.
