Packaging - Transport packaging for dangerous goods - Plastics compatibility testing for packaging and IBCs (ISO 13274:2013)

ISO 13274:2013 specifies the requirements and test methods for compatibility testing of plastics packagings/Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) and composite packagings/IBCs with plastics inners containing liquids. The testing involves storage with the liquid to be transported. For polyethylene-based packaging, testing with a standard liquid as defined in The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road may be undertaken. Annex B describes small-scale laboratory tests that may be used to determine the assimilation of those products to be carried with the standard liquids.
Where there is any contradiction between ISO 13274:2013 and any applicable regulation, the regulation always takes precendence.

Verpackung - Verpackungen zur Beförderung gefährlicher Güter - Verträglichkeitsprüfung für Kunststoffverpackungen und IBCs (ISO 13274:2013)

Diese Norm legt die Anforderungen an und die Verfahren für die Verträglichkeitsprüfung von auf Polyethylenbasis
hergestellten Verpackungen/Großpackmitteln (IBC) aus Kunststoff sowie
Kombinationsverpackungen/-IBC mit Kunststoffinnenverpackungen fest, die für flüssige Füllgüter vorgesehen
sind. Die Prüfung schließt die Lagerung mit dem Füllgut oder mit einer Standardflüssigkeit, wie sie in
Anhang A definiert wird, ein. Anhang B beschreibt Prüfungen im Labormaßstab, die für die Bestimmung der
Assimilierung der zu befördernden Produkte mit den Standardflüssigkeiten verwendet werden können.
ANMERKUNG Diese Norm sollte in Verbindung mit einer oder mehreren der internationalen Vorschriften, die in den
Literaturhinweisen genannt sind, angewandt werden.

L'ISO 13274:2013 spécifie les exigences et les méthodes d'essai pour vérifier la compatibilité des emballages/grands récipients pour vrac (GRV) en plastique et des emballages/GRV composites dont les récipients intérieurs en plastique contiennent des liquides. L'essai implique le stockage avec le liquide à transporter. Pour les emballages à base de polyéthylène, des essais avec un liquide standard tels que définis dans l'Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par route (ADR) peuvent être entrepris. L'Annexe B décrit des essais en laboratoire sur éprouvettes qui peuvent être utilisés pour déterminer l'assimilation de ces produits aux liquides standards.

Ta mednarodni standard določa zahteve in preskusne metode za primerjalno preskušanje plastične embalaže/vmesnih vsebnikov (IBC) in sestavljene embalaže/IBC s plastično notranjostjo, ki vsebuje tekočine. Preskušanje zajema shranjevanje s tekočino, ki se prevaža. Pri embalaži na osnovi polietilena se lahko izvaja preskušanje s standardno tekočino, kot je opredeljeno v Evropskem sporazumu o mednarodnem cestnem prevozu nevarnega blaga. Dodatek B opisuje manjše laboratorijske preskuse, ki se lahko uporabljajo za določanje asimilacije teh izdelkov z uporabo standardnih tekočin. Kadar prihaja do nasprotij med tem mednarodnim standardom in veljavnimi predpisi, imajo vedno prednost predpisi.

This document (EN ISO 13274:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 122 "Packaging" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 261 “Packaging” the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2014, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by February 2014.
