Composites made from cellulose-based materials and thermoplastics (usually called wood-polymer composites (WPC) or natural fibre composites (NFC)) - Part 5: Specifications for cladding profiles and tiles

This European Standard specifies the characteristics of cladding profiles and tiles made from cellulose-based materials and thermoplastics, usually called wood-polymer composites (WPC) or natural fibre composites (NFC), for external or internal use.
This part of EN 15534 is applicable to extruded profiles but also to tiles manufactured by other plastics processing techniques, e.g. injection moulding.
It is not applicable to support rail profiles, cover strip profiles and fastener devices which are out of the scope of this part of EN 15534.
EN 15534 1 specifies the test methods relevant to this part of EN 15534.
NOTE   For editorial reasons, in EN 15534 the abbreviation "WPC" is used for "composites made from cellulose-based materials and thermoplastics".

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Eigenschaften von Profilen und Formteilen für Wandbekleidungen, die aus cCellulose haltigen Materialien und Thermoplasten hergestellt sind, üblicherweise Holz-Polymer-Werkstoffe (WPC) (, en: wood-polymer composites) oder Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffe (NFC, ) (en: natural fibre composites) genannt, für Anwendungen im Außenbereich oder Innenbereich fest.
Dieser Teil von EN 15534 gilt für extrudierte Profile sowie für Formteile, die durch andere Kunststoffverarbeitungs-Verfahren, z. B. Spritzguss, hergestellt wurden.
Dieser Teil gilt nicht für Bausätze (d. h Unterkonstruktionen, Profile für Deckleisten und Beschläge), die außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs dieses Teils von EN 15534 liegen.
EN 15534–1 legt die für diesen Teil von EN 15534 zutreffenden Prüfverfahren fest.
ANMERKUNG    Aus redaktionellen Gründen wird in EN 15534 die Abkürzung „WPC” für „Verbundwerkstoffe aus cCellulose haltigen Materialien und Thermoplasten“ verwendet.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques des lames et des plaques pour bardage et lambris à base de matières cellulosiques et de thermoplastiques, communément appelés composites bois-polymères (WPC) ou composites fibres d'origine naturelle (NFC), destinés à être utilisés à l'extérieur ou à l'intérieur.
La présente partie de l’EN 15534 s'applique aux lames extrudées, mais aussi aux plaques fabriquées par d'autres techniques de transformation des plastiques, par exemple le moulage par injection.
Elle n'est pas applicable aux lames pour barres d'appui, couvre-joints et éléments de fixation qui ne relèvent pas du domaine d'application de la présente partie de l'EN 15534.
L’EN 15534 1 spécifie les méthodes d'essai pertinentes pour la présente partie de l'EN 15534.
NOTE   Pour des raisons éditoriales, dans l'EN 15534, l'abréviation « WPC » est utilisée pour « matériaux composites à base de matières cellulosiques et de thermoplastiques ».

Standard EN 15534-5 določa lastnosti profilov in ploščic stenskih oblog za zunanjo ali notranjo uporabo iz materialov na celulozni podlagi in plastomerov, navadno imenovanih lesno-polimerni kompoziti (WPC) ali kompoziti iz naravnih vlaken (NFC). Ta del standarda EN 15534 velja za ekstrudirane profile in tudi za ploščice, izdelane z drugimi postopki obdelave plastike, npr. vbrizgavanjem. EN 15534-5:2014 is the CEN European Standard that specifies performance and declaration requirements for cladding profiles and tiles made from cellulose-based materials and thermoplastics - commonly called wood‑polymer composites (WPC) or natural fibre composites (NFC). The standard covers products for external or internal use, applies primarily to extruded profiles and also to tiles produced by other plastics processing techniques (e.g. injection moulding). It does not cover support rails, cover strips or fastener devices. Test methods relevant to EN 15534-5 are given in EN 15534-1.

  • Artificial weathering: declared colour/appearance change (tests such as EN ISO 4892-2, EN 927-6, EN 16472 specified).
  • Moisture resistance: cyclic moisture tests and swelling/water-absorption limits (mean swelling ≤ 10% thickness; mean water absorption ≤ 8% by weight).
• Thermal
  • Linear thermal expansion coefficient limit (use class 3): ≤ 50 × 10−6 K−1; additional thermal tests (heat reversion, heat build-up) when applicable.
• Additional declared characteristics
  • Manufacturer must declare any extra properties required by customers, regulators or third parties (e.g. natural ageing results, appearance criteria).
