ISO 3821:2008 specifies requirements for rubber hoses (including twin hoses) for welding, cutting and allied processes.
ISO 3821:2008 specifies requirements for rubber hoses for normal duty of 2 MPa (20 bar) and light duty [limited to hoses for maximum working pressure of 1 MPa (10 bar) and with bore up to and including 6,3 mm].
ISO 3821:2008 applies to hoses operated at temperatures -20 °C to +60 °C and used in: gas welding and cutting; arc welding under the protection of an inert or active gas; processes allied to welding and cutting, in particular, heating, brazing, and metallization.
ISO 3821:2008 applies neither to thermoplastics hoses nor to hoses used for high pressure [>0,15 MPa (>1,5 bar)] acetylene.

Diese Internationale Norm legt Anforderungen für Gummischläuche (einschließlich Doppelschläuchen) für Schweißen, Schneiden und verwandte Prozesse fest.
Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Gummischläuche normaler Klasse bis zu 2 MPa (20 bar) und für Gummischläuche leichter Klasse [beschränkt auf Schläuche für einen höchsten Betriebsdruck von bis zu 1 MPa (10 bar) und mit einer Nennweite von kleiner oder gleich 6,3 mm].
Diese Internationale Norm gilt für Schläuche, die im Temperaturbereich von 20 °C bis 60 °C eingesetzt werden bei:
- Gasschweißen und Schneiden;
- Lichtbogenschweißen unter dem Schutz eines inerten oder aktiven Gases;
- verwandte Prozesse zum Schweißen und Schneiden, insbesondere Wärmen, Hartlöten und Spritzen.
Diese Internationale Norm gilt weder für thermoplastische Schläuche, noch für Schläuche, die für Hochdruck-acetylen [mehr als 0,15 MPa ( 1,5 bar)] verwendet werden.

L'ISO 3821:2008 spécifie les exigences relatives aux tuyaux souples en caoutchouc (y compris les tuyaux jumelés) pour le soudage, le coupage et les techniques connexes.
L'ISO 3821:2008 spécifie les exigences relatives aux tuyaux souples en caoutchouc pour le service normal jusqu'à 2 MPa (20 bar) et pour le service peu exigeant [limité aux tuyaux souples pour une pression de service maximale de 1 MPa (10 bar) et ayant un diamètre nominal inférieur ou égal à 6,3 mm].
L'ISO 3821:2008 s'applique aux tuyaux souples à des températures de −20 °C à +60 °C et utilisés pour le soudage et le coupage aux gaz, le soudage à l'arc sous protection de gaz inerte ou actif, et les techniques connexes du soudage et du coupage, en particulier le chauffage, le brasage fort et la métallisation.
L'ISO 3821:2008 ne s'applique ni aux tuyaux souples en matière thermoplastique, ni aux tuyaux souples utilisés en haute pression d'acétylène [>0,15 MPa (>1,5 bar)].

The text of ISO 3821:2008 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 “Welding and allied
processes” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO
3821:2010 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by September 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by September 2010.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 559:2003.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
