The purpose of ISO 11354-1:2011 is to specify a Framework for Enterprise Interoperability (FEI) that establishes dimensions and viewpoints to address interoperability barriers, their potential solutions, and the relationships between them.
ISO 11354 applies to manufacturing enterprises, but can also apply to other kinds of enterprises. It is intended for use by stakeholders who are concerned with developing and deploying solutions based on information and communication technology for manufacturing enterprise process interoperability. It focuses on, but is not restricted to, enterprise (manufacturing or service) interoperability.
ISO 11354-1:2011 specifies the following:
       viewpoints for addressing stakeholder concerns for the exchange of entities (information objects or physical objects) at the operational levels of enterprises at which interoperability is required;
       a framework for structuring these stakeholder concerns (business, process, service, data), the barriers relating to enterprise interoperability (conceptual, technological, organizational) and the approaches to overcome barriers (integrated, unified, federated), with contents identifying the various kinds of solutions available to enable interoperability.
ISO 11354-1:2011 does not specify the specific mechanisms for the exchange of entities (information objects or physical objects), nor the manner in which interoperability solutions are implemented.

Barrieren bezüglich der Unternehmensinteroperabilität (konzeptionell, technologisch und organisatorisch),
die verschiedenartigen vorhandener Lösungen und Vorgehensweisen (integriert, vereinheitlicht oder
während der Ausführung vereinigt), um die Barrieren zur Interoperabilität zu überwinden.
Dieser Teil von ISO 11354 spezifiziert weder die Mechanismen für den Austausch von Objekten, noch die Art
und Weise in der Interoperabilitätslösungen implementiert werden.

L'objectif de l'ISO 11354-1:2011 est de spécifier un cadre pour l'interopérabilité d'entreprise (CIE) permettant d'établir les dimensions et les points de vue pour traiter les barrières en matière d'interopérabilité, leurs éventuelles solutions et les relations qu'elles entretiennent.
L'ISO 11354 s'applique aux entreprises de fabrication, mais peut également concerner d'autres types d'entreprises. Elle s'adresse aux personnes concernées par le développement et le déploiement de solutions reposant sur les technologies de l'information et de la communication (TIC) pour l'interopérabilité des processus des entreprises de fabrication. Elle porte, sans s'y limiter, sur l'interopérabilité d'entreprise (de fabrication ou de service).
L'ISO 11354-1:2011 spécifie également:
         les concepts relatifs au traitement des vues des intervenants pour le transfert d'entités (objets d'information ou objets physiques) aux niveaux opérationnels des entreprises auxquels l'interopérabilité est nécessaire;
         un cadre permettant de structurer les vues des intervenants (métier, processus, service, données), les barrières (conceptuelles, technologiques, organisationnelles) à l'interopérabilité d'entreprise, les différents types de solutions disponibles et les approches (intégrées, unifiées, fédérées) permettant de les surmonter.
L'ISO 11354-1:2011 ne spécifie pas les mécanismes particuliers de transfert d'entités (objets d'information ou objets physiques), ni la manière de mettre en oeuvre les solutions d'interopérabilité.

Namen tega dela ISO 11354 je določiti okvir za interoperabilnost podjetij (FEI), ki vzpostavlja dimenzije in vidike za obravnavo interoperabilnih pregrad, njihove potencialne rešitve in razmerja med njimi. ISO 11354 velja za proizvodna podjetja, vendar lahko prav tako velja za druge vrste podjetij. Uporabljale naj bi ga zainteresirane strani, ki se ukvarjajo z razvojem in namestitvijo rešitev, temelječih na informacijah in komunikacijski tehnologiji, za interoperabilnost procesov proizvodnih podjetij. Trije dodatki zagotavljajo dodatne informacije. Dodatek A opisuje, kako so lahko obstoječi interoperabilni okviri povezani s koncepti tega okvira. Dodatek B prikazuje primere uporabe FEI za določanje in kategoriziranje interoperabilnih ovir, znanja in rešitev. Dodatek C zagotavlja metodološke smernice o tem, kako se FEI uporablja v interoperabilnem inženirskem projektu.

This document (EN ISO 11354-1:2011) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 310 "Advanced
automation technologies and their applications", the secretariat of which is held by BSI, in collaboration with
Technical Committee ISO/TC 184 "Automation systems and integration".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2012, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by March 2012.
