Plastics - Polycarbonate sheets - Types, dimensions and characteristics (ISO 11963:2012)

ISO 11963:2012 specifies the requirements for solid, flat extruded sheets of polycarbonate (PC) for general applications. It applies specifically to sheets made of poly(p,p′-isopropylidenediphenyl carbonate). The sheets may be coloured or colourless, and they may be transparent, translucent or opaque. The sheets may also have a special weather-protective layer on one or both surfaces.
ISO 11963:2012 applies only to thicknesses equal to or greater than 1,5 mm.

1.1   Diese Internationale Norm legt die Anforderungen an feste, flache, extrudierte Tafeln aus Polycarbonat (PC) für allgemeine Anwendungen fest. Sie gilt insbesondere für Tafeln aus Poly(p,p' Iso-propylidendiphenylcarbonat). Die Tafeln können eingefärbt oder farblos, transparent, transluzent oder undurchsichtig sein. Die Tafeln können auf einer oder beiden Seiten eine Wetterschutzschicht besitzen.
1.2   Diese Internationale Norm gilt nur für Dicken größer oder gleich 1,5 mm.

L'ISO 11963:2012 spécifie les exigences relatives aux plaques extrudées pleines planes en polycarbonate (PC) pour usage général. Elle s'applique en particulier aux plaques faites à partir de poly(p,p' isopropylidène-diphényl carbonate). Les plaques peuvent être colorées ou incolores et elles peuvent être transparentes, translucides ou opaques. Elles peuvent aussi posséder une couche superficielle spéciale résistante au vieillissement sur une face ou sur les deux faces.
L'ISO 11963:2012 s'applique uniquement aux épaisseurs supérieures ou égales à 1,5 mm.

Ta mednarodni standard določa zahteve za trdne, ploščate ekstrudirane plošče iz polikarbonata (PC) za splošno uporabo. Nanaša se zlasti na plošče iz poli(p,p'-isopropiliden-difenil-karbonata). Plošče so lahko barvne ali brezbarvne, prozorne, prosojne ali neprozorne. Plošče imajo lahko posebno zaščitno prevleko pred vremenskimi vplivi na eni površini ali obeh. Ta mednarodni standard velja le za debelino 1,5 mm ali več.

This document (EN ISO 11963:2012) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 "Plastics" in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2013, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the
latest by May 2013.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
