Outdoor furniture - Seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use - Part 1: General safety requirements

This European Standard specifies the general safety requirements for outdoor seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use.
It does not apply to removable upholstery, coverings and permanently fixed furniture.
Annex A (informative) is a schematic presentation of requirements and conditions concerning shear and squeeze points.
Annex B (informative) includes a terminology for outdoor furniture.

Außenmöbel - Sitzmöbel und Tische für den Camping-, Wohn- und Objektbereich - Teil 1: Allgemeine sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen

Diese Europäische Norm legt allgemeine sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen für Außensitzmöbel und
Tische für den Camping-, Wohn- und Objektbereich fest.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für abnehmbare Polster und Abdeckungen sowie ortsfest angebrachte Möbel.
Anhang A (informativ) enthält eine schematische Darstellung der Anforderungen und Bedingungen bezüglich
der Scher- und Quetschstellen.
Anhang B (informativ) enthält eine Terminologie für Außenmöbel.

La présente Norme européenne fixe les exigences générales de sécurité des sieges et tables d'extérieur a usages domestique, collectif et de camping.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux rembourrages et revetements amovibles ou au mobilier fixé de façon permanente.
L'Annexe A (informative) est une présentation schématique des exigences et conditions relatives aux points de cisaillement et de pincement.
L'Annexe B (informative) inclut une terminologie des mobiliers d'extérieur.

Foreword
This European Standard (EN 581-1:2006) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 207
“Furniture”, the secretariat of which is held by UNI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by August 2006.
This European Standard supersedes EN 581-1:1997.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania,
