Outdoor furniture - Seating and tables for camping, domestic and contract use - Part 3: Mechanical safety requirements for tables

This European Standard specifies the minimum requirements for the safety, strength and durability of all types of outdoor tables for adults, without regard to materials, design/construction or manufacturing processes.
It does not apply to street furniture.
With the exception of stability tests the standard does not provide assessment of the suitability of any storage features included in tables.
It does not include requirements for the durability of castors/wheels and height adjustment mechanisms.
It does not include requirements for electrical safety.
It does not include requirements for the resistance to ageing and degradation caused by light, temperature and moisture.

Sie enthält keine Anforderungen an die Dauerhaltbarkeit von Rollen/Rädern und an  Mechanismen zur Höhenverstellung.
Sie enthält keine Anforderungen an die elektrische Sicherheit.
Sie enthält keine Anforderungen an die Alterungsbeständigkeit und an durch Licht, Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit verursachte Qualitätsminderungen.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences minimales en matière de sécurité, de résistance et de durabilité de tous les types de tables d’extérieur pour adultes, indépendamment de la nature des matériaux, de la conception/construction ou des procédés de fabrication.
Elle ne s’applique pas au mobilier urbain.
À l’exception des essais de stabilité, la présente norme ne fournit aucune évaluation sur l’aptitude à l’usage des éléments de rangement inclus dans les tables.

EN 581-3:2017 - published by CEN - specifies the mechanical safety, strength and durability requirements for outdoor tables intended for camping, domestic and contract use. It applies to all types of adult outdoor tables regardless of material or construction, but excludes street furniture and does not address electrical safety, castor/wheel durability, height‑adjustment mechanisms, or resistance to ageing from light, temperature or moisture. Testing is carried out in accordance with EN 1730:2012 and general safety requirements of EN 581-1:2017.

withdrawn at the latest by July 2017.
