Plastics warning devices for underground cables and pipelines with visual characteristics

This European Standard specifies the material, mechanical and functional (fitness for purpose) requirements
for warning devices with visual characteristics manufactured from plastics, intended to indicate the presence
of cables and piping systems buried in ground when opening trenches and more generally during digging
work.
This European Standard also specifies the test methods referred to in this document.
This European Standard is applicable to two types of visual warning devices: tapes (type 1) and meshes
(type 2).

Diese Europäische Norm legt den Werkstoff sowie mechanische und funktionale Anforderungen (Zweckdienlichkeit)
an Warneinrichtungen mit visuellen Eigenschaften fest, die aus Kunststoffen hergestellt sind und das
Vorhandensein erdverlegter Kabel und Rohrleitungen beim Ausheben von Gräben oder allgemein bei Aushebearbeiten
anzeigen.
Diese Europäische Norm legt auch die im vorliegenden Dokument zitierten Prüfverfahren fest.
Diese Europäische Norm ist auf zwei Arten von Warneinrichtungen mit visuellen Eigenschaften anwendbar:
Bänder (Typ 1) und Netze (Typ 2).

Dispositifs avertisseurs à caractéristiques visuelles, en matière plastique, pour câbles et canalisations enterrés

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences relatives au matériau ainsi que les exigences
mécaniques et fonctionnelles (aptitude à l’emploi) des dispositifs avertisseurs à caractéristiques visuelles, en
matière plastique, destinés à indiquer la présence de câbles et de systèmes de canalisations enterrés dans le
sol, lors d’ouvertures de fouilles et, plus généralement, pendant les travaux d’excavation.
La présente Norme européenne spécifie également les méthodes d’essai auxquelles il est fait référence dans
le présent document.
La présente Norme européenne est applicable à deux types de dispositifs avertisseurs visuels : bandes
(type 1) et grillages (type 2).
