This document includes technical requirements which are related to automotive repair and maintenance information (RMI) systems in order to standardize access to RMI for independent operators.
This document specifies the minimum set of technical requirements related to a vehicle manufacturer's RMI system. These requirements will reflect the deriving needs from the use cases as specified in ISO 18541‑1.
Furthermore, this document defines requirements for granting access to security-related RMI in Annex A following the SERMI scheme.
This document is applicable to light passenger and commercial vehicles as defined in regulation (EC) 715/2007 Article 2 [15].

Dieses Dokument umfasst technische Anforderungen in Bezug auf Reparatur- und Wartungs-informationssysteme (RMI), die der Standardisierung des Zugangs zu RMI durch unabhängige Markt-teilnehmer dienen.
Dieses Dokument legt eine Reihe von Mindestanforderungen in Bezug auf das RMI-System eines Fahrzeugherstellers fest. Diese Anforderungen spiegeln die Bedürfnisse wider, die von den in ISO 18541-1 festgelegten Anwendungsfällen abgeleitet sind.
Zusätzlich legt dieses Dokument Anforderungen zur Gewährung von Zugriffsrechten für sicherheitsrelevante RMI in Anhang A fest, welche dem SERMI-Schema folgen.
Dieses Dokument ist anzuwenden für leichte Kraftfahrzeuge und Nutzfahrzeuge nach Verordnung (EG) 715/2007, Artikel 2 [15].

Le présent document comprend les exigences techniques liées aux systèmes d'informations relatives à la réparation et à la maintenance pour l'automobile (RMI) dans le but de normaliser l'accès des opérateurs indépendants aux RMI.
Le présent document spécifie l'ensemble minimal d'exigences techniques concernant le système RMI d'un constructeur de véhicules. Ces exigences reflèteront les besoins qui découlent des cas d'utilisation spécifiés dans l'ISO 18541‑1.
De plus, le présent document définit dans l’Annexe A les exigences afin d’accorder l’accès aux RMI relatives à la sécurité selon le système SERMI.
Le présent document est applicable aux véhicules particuliers et utilitaires légers tels que définis dans le règlement (CE) 715/2007 à l’Article 2 [15].

This document (EN ISO 18541-2:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 22 "Road
vehicles" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 301 “Road vehicles” the secretariat of
which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2021, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2021.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 18541-2:2014.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the
