Flat flexible cables

This document covers the construction, requirements and particular test methods for flat, flexible PVC or halogen-free insulated and sheathed cables, of rated voltage Uo/U 300/500 V and above 1 mm2, Uo/U 450/750 V for use in passenger and goods lifts (elevators), and Uo/U 450/750 V for general purposes and for special applications such as hoists and travelling cranes. NOTE 1 This revision is in accordance with an agreement with CEN TC 10 to specify in the same standard a) flexible cables for lifts as required by EN 81-series, and b) flexible cable for applications such as hoists and travelling cranes, previously found in HD 359. In accordance with this agreement, only those cables in Clauses 5 and 6 are suitable for use with EN 81-series. NOTE 2 The limits for the overall diameter of the cables have been calculated in accordance with EN 60719.

Dieses Dokument umfasst Aufbau, Anforderungen und besondere Prüfverfahren für flache, flexible, mit PVC oder mit halogenfreien Materialien isolierte und -ummantelte Leitungen mit einer Nennspannung von U0/U 300/500 V und für Querschnitte größer als 1 mm² mit einer Nennspannung U0/U 450/750 V für die Verwendung an Personen- und Lastenaufzügen und von U0/U 450/750 V für allgemeine Verwendung und spezielle Anwendungen wie z. B. Aufzüge und Laufkräne. ANMERKUNG 1 Diese Überarbeitung erfolgt in Übereinstimmung mit dem Abkommen mit CEN TC 10, um in der gleichen Norm a) flexible Leitungen nach EN 81-20 und b) flexible Leitungen für Anwendungen wie Aufzüge und Laufkräne festzulegen, die vorher in HD 359 zu finden waren. Nach dieser Übereinkunft sind nur die Leitungen in den Abschnitten 5 und 6 für Anwendungen nach EN 81-20 geeignet. ANMERKUNG 2 Die Außenmaße der Leitungen sind in Übereinstimmung mit EN 60719 berechnet worden.

Le présent document couvre la construction, les exigences et les méthodes d’essai spécifiques pour les câbles méplats souples isolés et gainés en PVC ou sans halogène de tension assignée Uo/U 300/500 V, et pour les sections supérieures à 1 mm2, de tension assignée Uo/U 450 V/750 V, destinés aux ascenseurs et monte-charge, et de tension assignée Uo/U 450/750 V pour une utilisation générale et des applications particulières telles que câbles pour festons et grues mobiles. NOTE 1 La présente révision, faite en accord avec le CEN TC 10, spécifie dans la même norme, a) les câbles souples pour ascenseurs comme exigé par la série EN 81, et b) les câbles souples pour applications telles que festons et grues mobiles, précédemment décrits dans le document HD 359. En conformité avec cet accord, seuls les câbles couverts par les Articles 5 et 6 conviennent pour une utilisation conformément à la série EN 81. NOTE 2 Les limites applicables aux diamètres extérieurs des câbles ont été calculées conformément à l’EN 60719.

This document supersedes EN 50214:2006 and all of its amendments and corrigenda (if any).
— Halogen-free insulated and sheathed flat cables are included.
— The cable may consist of power cores, control cores or communication units or combination of them.
— Clause 5 describes only flat sheathed flexible cables for lifts, assembled in single layer.
— Clause 6 describes only flat sheathed flexible cables for lifts, assembled in bundles and units

1 Scope
