Dieser Entwurf einer Europäischen Norm legt Anforderungen für die Konstruktion, Ausführung, Prüfung und Sicherheitsangaben von allgemeinen Einkaufswagen, mit oder ohne Kindersitz, fest, die bei Begleitung durch einen Benutzer für den Gebrauch auf Fahrsteigen entsprechend EN 115:1995 geeignet sind.
Einkaufswagen, die durch diesen Entwurf einer Europäischen Norm betroffen sind, müssen der EN 1929-1:1998 entsprechen, mit Ausnahme von 5.4, 6 und 4.2.2 nur bezüglich des Rollendurchmessers.
