The management of electronic transport regulations (METR) provides a means for METR users to obtain trustworthy, authoritative, machine-interpretable, publicly available and transport-related information for the use of the road network, in order to provide safer and more efficient, sustainable, comfortable, and equitable transport services.
The scope of METR includes both rules that are relatively static (e.g. static speed limits) as well as those that are dynamic (e.g. variable speed limits, signalized intersections). Where appropriate, METR incorporates existing documents (e.g. ISO/TS 19091 for signalized intersections).
This document defines terms specific to the ISO 24315 series on the management of electronic transport regulations.

Das Management von elektronischen Verkehrsregularien (METR) bietet den METR-Anwendern ein Mittel, um vertrauenswürdige, maßgebliche, maschineninterpretierbare, öffentlich zugängliche und verkehrsbezogene Informationen für die Nutzung des Straßennetzes zu erhalten, um sicherere und effizientere, nachhaltige, komfortable und gerechte Transportdienste anzubieten.
Der Anwendungsbereich von METR umfasst sowohl relativ statische (z. B. statische Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen) als auch dynamische Regelungen (z. B. variable Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen, Kreuzungen mit Signalanlagen). Wo dies angebracht ist, bezieht METR bestehende Normen ein (z. B. ISO/TS 19091 für Kreuzungen mit Signalanlagen).

This Technical Specification (CEN/TS) was approved by CEN on 4 March 2025 for provisional application.
The period of validity of this CEN/TS is limited initially to three years. After two years the members of CEN will be requested to
submit their comments, particularly on the question whether the CEN/TS can be converted into a European Standard.
CEN members are required to announce the existence of this CEN/TS in the same way as for an EN and to make the CEN/TS
available promptly at national level in an appropriate form. It is permissible to keep conflicting national standards in force (in
parallel to the CEN/TS) until the final decision about the possible conversion of the CEN/TS into an EN is reached.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway,
Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye and
