Diese Norm legt Anforderungen und Prüverfahren für die Klassifizierung von durchschußhemmenden Verglasungen (ein- oder mehrschichtig) und Glas/Kunstoff- verbunden für das Bauwesen fest. Anmerkung: Der Begriff "durchschußhemmende Verglasung" bezieht sich auf Erzeugnisse, die die augenfälligen Eigenschaften von Glas haben; aber er beinhaltet auch Erzeugnisse mit Zwischenschichten aus Kunstoff oder Kombinationen aus beiden.

La présente norme européenne spécifie des exigences de performance et des méthodes d'essai permettant la classification des vitrages en verre (constitués d'une ou plusieurs couches de verre) et des vitrages composites verre/plastique en fonction de leur résistance aux balles. Note: L'expression "vitrage résistant aux balles" s'applique aux produits possédant les caractéristiques évidentes du verre, mais inclut également des produits tels que les produits à feuilles intercalaires en plastique et les produits mixtes.
