This document specifies requirements for the designations and descriptions used in the exchange of goods when exhibiting, promoting (e.g., advertising and labelling), and placing on the market when leather is used in upholstered furniture.
Parts of furniture with appearance that does not correspond to leather (e. g. wood, metal) and parts of purely decorative nature are not covered by this document.
The designation and/or description of leather in footwear, leather goods and leather clothing including gloves are not covered by this document.
The designation and/or description of leather in automotive interior applications is covered in EN 16223 2.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen an die Bezeichnungen und Beschreibungen fest, die im Rahmen des Warenaustausches beim Ausstellen, bei der Verkaufsförderung (z. B. Werbung und Etikettierung) und beim Inverkehrbringen verwendet werden, wenn Leder bei Polstermöbeln verwendet wird.

Le présent document spécifie les exigences relatives aux désignations et descriptions utilisées dans le cadre des échanges de marchandises lors de l’exposition, de la promotion (par exemple, publicité et étiquetage) et de la mise sur le marché lorsque le cuir est utilisé dans les meubles capitonnés.
Les parties de meubles dont l’aspect ne ressemble en rien au cuir (par exemple, bois, métal) et les pièces à vocation purement décorative ne sont pas couvertes par ce document.
