(1)P Ta 1-2. del EN 1996 obravnava projektiranje zidanih konstrukcij za nezgodno izpostavljenost ognju in se uporablja skupaj z EN 1996-1-1, EN 1996-2, 1996-3 in EN 1991-1-2. Ta 1-2. del le prepoznava odstopanja projektiranja pri običajni temperaturi ali njegove dopolnitve.
(2)P Ta 1-2. del obravnava pasivne metode zaščite pred ognjem. Aktivne metode niso
zajete.
3(P) Ta 1-2. del velja za zidane konstrukcije, ki morajo zaradi razlogov splošne varnosti pred ognjem izpolnjevati določene funkcije, kadar so izpostavljene ognju, glede:
- izogibanja prezgodnjemu sesedanju konstrukcij (funkcija nosilnosti bremena);
- omejevanje širjenja ognja (plamen, vroči plini, čezmerna vročina) prek določenih območij (funkcija ločevanja).
(4)P Ta 1-2. del podaja načela in pravila za uporabo za projektiranje konstrukcij za določene zahteve glede na zgoraj omenjene funkcije in ravni delovanja.
(5)P Ta 1-2. del velja za konstrukcije ali dele konstrukcij, ki so na področju uporabe EN 1996-1-1, EN 1996-2 in EN 1996-3, ter so skladno s tem projektirani.
(6)P Ta 1-2. del ne zajema z naravnim kamnom zidanih enot, ki jih zajema EN771-6.
