ISO 8986-2:2009 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used in determining the properties of polybutene‑1 (PB‑1) moulding and extrusion materials. Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the specimens before testing are also specified.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods which are suitable and necessary to characterize PB moulding and extrusion materials are listed.
The properties have been selected from the general test methods in ISO 10350‑1. Other test methods in wide use for or of particular significance to these moulding and extrusion materials are also included in this part of ISO 8986, as is the designatory property specified in Part 1.

Dieser Teil von ISO 8986 legt die Bedingungen zur Herstellung von Probekörpern und die zur Bestimmung
der Eigenschaften von Polybuten-1 (PB-1)-Formmassen anzuwendenden Prüfmethoden fest. Der Einfachheit
halber wird die Bezeichnung Polybuten und das Kurzzeichen PB in beiden Teilen von ISO 8986 verwendet.
Anforderungen an die Behandlung des Probematerials und für das Konditionieren des Probematerials vor der
Herstellung der Probekörper und der Probekörper vor der Prüfung sind ebenfalls festgelegt.
Verfahren und Bedingungen für die Herstellung der Probekörper und Vorschriften für die Bestimmung der
Eigenschaften der Formmasse, aus der die Probekörper hergestellt werden, sind angegeben. Eigenschaften
und Prüfmethoden, die anwendbar und notwendig sind, um Polybuten-1 (PB-1)-Formmassen zu charakterisieren,
sind aufgelistet.
Die Liste der Eigenschaften enthält zunächst allgemein gültige Prüfverfahren, wie sie in ISO 10350-1 festgelegt
sind. Andere weithin gebräuchliche Prüfverfahren oder solche von besonderer Bedeutung für diese
Formmassen, wie die kennzeichnende Eigenschaft aus Teil 1 dieser Norm, sind in diesem Teil von ISO 8986
festgelegt.
Um reproduzierbare und vergleichbare Prüfergebnisse zu erhalten, müssen die hier festgelegten Bedingungen
der Probekörperherstellung und -konditionierung, die Probekörper mit den hier genormten Abmessungen
sowie die festgelegten Prüfverfahren angewendet werden. Die gemessenen Werte müssen nicht notwendigerweise
mit denen identisch sein, die bei Anwendung von Probekörpern anderer Abmessungen oder
solchen, die mit einem anderen Verfahren hergestellt wurden, erhalten werden.

L'ISO 8986-2:2009 spécifie les méthodes de préparation des éprouvettes et les méthodes d'essai à appliquer pour déterminer les propriétés des matériaux à base de polybutène-1 (PB-1) pour moulage et extrusion. Les exigences relatives à la manipulation du matériau d'essai, ainsi qu'au conditionnement de ce matériau avant le moulage et des éprouvettes avant l'essai sont également spécifiées.
Elle précise les modes opératoires et les conditions de la préparation des éprouvettes, ainsi que les modes opératoires de mesurage des propriétés des matériaux à partir desquels ces éprouvettes sont fabriquées. Elle fournit également une liste des propriétés et des méthodes d'essai appropriées et nécessaires à la caractérisation des PB pour moulage et extrusion.
Les propriétés ont été choisies à partir des méthodes d'essai générales spécifiées dans l'ISO 10350-1. D'autres méthodes d'essai présentant une importance particulière ou largement utilisées pour ces matériaux pour moulage et extrusion sont également incluses dans l'ISO 8986-2:2009, de même que la propriété de désignation spécifiée dans la Partie 1.

Ta del ISO 8986 določa metode za pripravo preskušancev in preskusne metode, ki se uporabljajo za določevanje lastnosti materialov za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje iz polibutena-1 (PB-1). Zaradi enostavnosti se material navaja kot polibuten (PB). Tu so podane zahteve za ravnanje s preskusnim materialom ter pripravo preskusnega materiala pred oblikovanjem in vzorcev pred preskušanjem. Podani so postopki in pogoji za pripravo preskušancev in postopki za merjenje lastnosti materialov, iz katerih so preskušanci narejeni. Navedene so lastnosti in preskusne metode, ki so primerne in potrebne za opredelitev materialov za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje iz PB. Lastnosti so bile izbrane iz splošnih preskusnih metod v ISO 10350-1. Druge preskusne metode v široki uporabi ali posebnega pomena za te materiale za oblikovanje in ekstrudiranje so prav tako vključene v ta del ISO 8986, kot tudi značilne lastnosti, opredeljene v 1. delu. Za pridobitev ponovljivih in primerljivih rezultatov preskusa je treba uporabiti tu navedene metode za pripravo in obdelavo vzorcev, mere vzorcev in preskusne postopke. Ugotovljene vrednosti ne bodo nujno enake vrednostim, pridobljenim z uporabo vzorcev drugačnih mer ali pripravljenih po drugačnih postopkih.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 8986-2:1995), which has been technically
revised to reflect the changes made in the concurrent revision of ISO 8986-1. It also incorporates the
Amendment ISO 8986-2:1995/Amd.1:2000.

1 Scope
This part of ISO 8986 specifies the methods of preparation of test specimens and the test methods to be used
in determining the properties of polybutene-1 (PB-1) moulding and extrusion materials. For the sake of
simplicity, the designation polybutene and the abbreviation PB are used in both parts of ISO 8986.
Requirements for handling test material and for conditioning both the test material before moulding and the
specimens before testing are also specified.
Procedures and conditions for the preparation of test specimens and procedures for measuring properties of
the materials from which these specimens are made are given. Properties and test methods which are
suitable and necessary to characterize PB moulding and extrusion materials are listed.

use for or of particular significance to these moulding and extrusion materials are also included in this part of
ISO 8986, as is the designatory property specified in Part 1.
In order to obtain reproducible and comparable test results, it is necessary to use the methods of specimen
preparation and conditioning, the specimen dimensions and the test procedures specified herein. Values
determined will not necessarily be identical to those obtained using specimens of different dimensions or
prepared using different procedures.
