This document specifies constructional and performance characteristics, safety specifications and rational use of energy, relevant test methods and marking of independent stoves, side burners, covered burners, open burners, griddles, radiant grills, burning liquefied petroleum gas, referred to in the body of the text as "appliances".
This document covers appliances, used outdoors and operating with the gases of the third family according to EN 437:2018.
Appliances used in leisure vehicles and boats are outside the field of application of this standard.
Independent stove burners, whose nominal heat input is below 1,16 kW, griddles and radiant grills, are not subject to any special requirement concerning the rational use of energy due to their low rate and their use for short periods of time.
This document does not state all requirements for appliances of other nature incorporating a stove (for example barbecues are not covered by this standard but a side burner of a barbecue is covered by this standard).
This document does not cover regulators that are used with those appliances.

This European Standard specifies the constructional and performance characteristics, safety specifications, relevant test methods and marking of barbecues burning liquefied petroleum gas, referred to in the body of the text as "appliances".
This European Standard covers barbecues as defined in 3.6 and contact grills as defined in 3.8, used outdoors and operating with the gases indicated in 4.1 according to the categories indicated in 4.2. They are fitted with at least one cooking device.
This European Standard applies to these appliances and their functional sections whether or not the latter are independent or incorporated into an assembly.
This European Standard also applies to appliances designed to be built-in.
This European Standard only applies to type testing.
Appliances supplied with third family gas at pressures greater those defined in 4.2 are outside the field of application of this European Standard.
During the consideration of this text, it was apparent that the concept of thermal efficiency with regard to appliances such as barbecues was not appropriate.
This is because:
- during cooking, there is an additional transfer of heat due to the meat juices falling onto the refractories;
- there is no relation between the item to be cooked and the useful area;
- the barbecue is an outdoor appliance in which the action of the wind is important in relation to efficiency.
In consequence there is no specific requirement covering thermal efficiency for this type of appliance.
This European Standard does not state all applicable requirements for integral equipments of other nature (for example burners covered by EN 484).

This document is applicable to single use barbecues which burn solid fuels.
This document specifies requirements for materials, construction, design and test methods to ensure safe use and satisfactory performance.
This document is intended to reduce the risks which may occur during and through barbecuing with solid fuels.
This document deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards presented by single use barbecues when used by adults. Very vulnerable people can have needs that go beyond the level of safety addressed in this document.

This European Standard specifies the special constructional and operational characteristics, as well as the requirements and methods of test for safety and marking, for domestic cooking appliances having forced-convection ovens and /or grills using combustible gases, as defined in EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010.
Unless specifically excluded, this European Standard applies to appliances or their component parts, whether the component parts are independent or incorporated as part of the appliance, even if the other heating components use electrical energy (for example combined gas-electric cookers).
This European Standard includes requirements covering the electrical safety of equipment incorporated in the appliance that are associated with the use of gas. It does not include requirements covering the electric safety of electrically-heated components or their associated equipment1).
This European Standard does not apply to:
- outdoor appliances;
- appliances connected to a combustion products evacuation duct;
- appliances having a pyrolytic gas oven;
- appliances having covered burners which do not comply with the constructional requirements
of EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010, 5.2.8.2.2;
- appliances incorporating flame supervision devices and having an automatic ignition device for which the duration of the ignition attempt is limited by design;
- appliances equipped with a burner that is periodically ignited and extinguished under the control of an automatic on/off device;
- appliances equipped with a burner having a fan for the supply of combustion air or for the evacuation of the products of combustion;
- appliances supplied at pressures greater than those defined in EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010, 7.1.2;
- appliances equipped with an oven and/or with a grill having a fan either for the supply of combustion air or for the evacuation of the products of combustion;
- appliances equipped with a compartment in which a burner and an electric heating element can function simultaneously;
- appliances having one or more burners that are capable of remote operation (type 1 or type 2), unless the burner(s) concerned are thermostatically controlled oven burners of time-controlled ovens that are designed for a delayed start without the user being present.
This European Standard does not cover the requirements relating to third family gas cylinders, their regulators and their connection.
This European Standard only covers type testing.

These appliances can burn one or more types of the following solid fuels as specified:
- wood logs;
- compressed untreated wood;
- wood pellets;
- lignite briquettes;
- solid mineral fuels;
- peat briquettes.
This document is not applicable to appliances with fan assisted combustion air or appliances that are mechanically fed.
This document specifies procedures for assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of characteristics of solid fuel burning cookers.

This document specifies safety and hygiene requirements for the design and manufacture of rotary rack ovens which can be used with one or more mobile racks.
These ovens are intended for professional use in the food industry and workshops (bakeries, pastry-making, etc.) for the batch baking of foodstuffs containing flour, water and other ingredients and/or additives. This document applies to ovens used only for food products except for those containing volatile flammable ingredients (volatile organic compound, e.g. alcohol, oil, …). This document applies to ovens where the steam is generated by an evaporation process of drinking water on hot surfaces.
The following machines are excluded:
- experimental and testing machines under development by the manufacturer;
- machines for non-professional uses.
NOTE Due to the fact that rotary rack ovens are intended for professional uses, EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-42 are not applicable.
This document covers the technical safety requirements for the transport, installation, operation, cleaning and maintenance of these machines (see EN ISO 12100:2010, Clause 6).
This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to rotary rack ovens when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see informative Annex C).
The following hazards are not covered by this document:
- hazards from the use of gaseous fuel by gas appliances;
- hazards arising from electromagnetic compatibility issues;
- hazards from the use of trays made of or coated by silicone;
- hazards due to dismantling, disabling and scrapping.
This document does not deal with noise emitted by the machine.
This document is not applicable to rotary rack ovens which were manufactured before the date of its publication as an EN.
