Steel wire and wire products - Steel wire for ropes - Part 1: General requirements

This part of this European Standard defines the general requirements for wire for ropes. Additional requirements are given in the following parts of this standard, which are specific to each category of wire. This standard specifies: - dimensional tolerances; - mechanical characteristics; - requirements relating to the chemical composition of the steel wire; - conditions to be satisfied by any coating.

La présente partie de la présente Norme européenne définit les prescriptions générales requises pour les fils pour câbles. Les exigences complémentaires sont données dans les parties suivantes de la présente norme, spécifiques pour chaque catégorie de fil.
La présente norme spécifie :
¾ les tolérances dimensionnelles ;
¾ les caractéristiques mécaniques ;
¾ les exigences concernant la composition chimique des fils en acier ;
¾ les conditions auxquelles le revêtement éventuel doit satisfaire.
