Specifications for particular types of winding wires -- Part 0-3: General requirements - Enamelled round aluminium wire

This part of IEC 60317 specifies the general requirements of enamelled round aluminium winding wires with or without a bonding layer. The range of nominal conductor diameters is given in the relevant specification sheet. When reference is made to a winding wire according to a standard of the IEC 60317 series mentioned under Clause 2, the following information is given in the description: - reference to IEC specification; - nominal conductor diameter, in millimetres; - grade.

Les changements techniques par rapport à l'édition précédente comprennent une clarification concernant les exigences sur l'aspect, des révisions sur les gammes des dimensions des fils s'appliquant aux essais de souplesse et d'adhérence, et une clarification expliquant que les exigences relatives à la détection des microfissures en immersion sont à l'étude.

Foreword
The text of document 55/1056/FDIS, future edition 3 of IEC 60317-0-3, prepared by IEC TC 55, Winding
wires, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as
EN 60317-0-3 on 2008-06-01.
This European Standard supersedes EN 60317-0-3:1998 + A1:2000 + A2:2004.
Technical changes from EN 60317-0-3:1998 include
– a clarification of the appearance requirements,
– revisions of the wire size ranges applicable to the flexibility and adherence tests,
– an indication that pin hole test requirements are under consideration.
This standard is to be read in conjunction with the EN 60851 series. The clause numbers used in this part
of EN 60317 are identical with the respective test numbers of EN 60851.
In case of inconsistencies between EN 60851 and this EN 60317-0-3, the latter shall prevail.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2009-03-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2011-06-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
