Fibre-reinforced plastics - Moulding compounds and prepregs - Determination of mass per unit area (ISO 10352:2010)

This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the mass per unit area of sheet moulding compound and preimpregnated unidirectional sheet, tape, fabric and mats. Unless stated to the contrary in the relevant material specification, this International Standard is applicable to prepregs in which any type of reinforcement (aramid, carbon, glass, etc.) and any type of matrix (thermosetting or thermoplastic) has been used.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung des Flächengewichtes von Harzmatten
(SMC) und vorimprägnierten unidirektionalen Bahnen, Bändern, Geweben und Matten fest.
Sofern in den jeweiligen Materialspezifikationen nichts Gegenteiliges festgelegt ist, gilt diese Norm für
Prepregs unabhängig davon, welche Art der Verstärkung (Aramid, Carbon, Glas usw.) oder welcher Typ der
Matrix (wärmehärtend oder thermoplastisch) verwendet ist.

L'ISO 10352:2010 spécifie une méthode de détermination de la masse surfacique des mélanges à mouler en feuilles et des feuilles avec renforts unidirectionnels, rubans, tissus et mats préimprégnés.
Sauf indication contraire dans la spécification du matériau concerné, elle est applicable aux préimprégnés, quelle que soit la nature du renfort (aramide, carbone, verre, etc.) et du système de résine (thermodurcissable ou thermoplastique) ayant été utilisés.

Ta mednarodni standard opredeljuje metodo za določevanje mase na enoto površine zmesi za oblikovanje v plasteh in preimpregniranih enosmernih plasti, trakov, blaga in matov. Razen če je navedeno v nasprotju z ustreznimi specifikacijami za material, ta mednarodni standard velja za materiale za preimpregniranje, pri katerih je bil uporabljen kateri koli tip ojačitve (aramidna, karbonska, steklena itd.) in kateri koli tip matriksa (termoreaktivni ali plastomerni).

This document (EN ISO 10352:2010) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61 “Plastics” in
collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 249 “Plastics” the secretariat of which is held by NBN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2011, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2011.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.

ISO 10352 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 61, Plastics, Subcommittee SC 13, Composites
and reinforcement fibres.
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition (ISO 10352:1997), which has been technically
revised to make a distinction between materials which have been manufactured using a solvent and those
which have been manufactured without using a solvent, a different variant of the procedure being specified for
each.
