Metal aerosol containers - Aluminium containers - Dimensions of the 25,4 mm aperture

This European Standard specifies the following dimensions of aluminium metal aerosol cans with 25,4 mm aperture: contact height, outside diameter, inside diameter and shoulder height. It is intended to be used with EN 14848 for clinching with valve cups.

EN 15006:2006 is a CEN European Standard that defines the critical dimensional requirements for aluminium metal aerosol containers with a 25,4 mm (1 inch) aperture. The standard specifies measurement and specification criteria for the aperture contour rather than destructive radii/angles, to ensure reliable closure performance when clinching valve cups. It is intended to be used together with EN 14848 (valve cups) and EN 14850 (measurement of contact height).

• Manufacturing note: for one-piece aluminium containers with diameter > 50 mm, a machined can curl is recommended.
