SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 is a Slovenian amendment to EN IEC 61326-1:2021 for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use. It updates immunity and emission requirements, performance criteria, and user-documentation rules for equipment used in professional, industrial-process, industrial-manufacturing and educational settings.
What does SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 specify?
SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 specifies changes to the general EMC requirements for this equipment family. It keeps the focus on immunity and emissions for equipment operating from a supply or battery below 1 000 V AC or 1 500 V DC, or from the circuit being measured.
The amendment is organized as modifications to the Introduction and Clauses 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9, plus Annex A, replacement of Annex ZA, and a new informative Annex ZZ.
| Annex | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Annex A | Immunity test requirements for portable test and measurement equipment powered by battery or from the circuit being measured |
| Annex ZA | Normative references to international publications with corresponding European publications |
| Annex ZZ | Relationship between this European Standard and Directive 2014/30/EU |
What are the key requirements of SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026?
SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 makes the EMC test plan and the user documentation part of the compliance decision. In practice, manufacturers need to define the intended EMC environment, choose the right test set-up, and state the permitted performance level or loss of performance before testing starts.
Test planning and test items
Clause 4 allows testing on one EUT or split across multiple EUTs, but every result must be traceable to the item tested. Clause 5 says the equipment shall be tested in the worst-case performance-relevant arrangement and as type tests. That matters for modular systems, because the test setup has to reflect the most demanding intended configuration, not just a convenient one.
Immunity requirements
Clause 6 uses separate immunity tables for the BASIC, INDUSTRIAL and CONTROLLED electromagnetic environments, and Annex A adds a table for portable battery-powered or circuit-powered test and measurement equipment. The tables pair each port and phenomenon with a test method and performance criterion, so the reader can match the equipment, the environment and the expected behaviour.
Clause 6 also defines what the performance criteria mean in practice:
- Criterion A - the EUT keeps operating as intended during and after the test, with no loss of function or data.
- Criterion B - temporary loss of function is allowed during the test if the EUT recovers by itself afterward.
- Criterion C - loss of function is allowed during the test if recovery is self-recoverable or restored by user action, and the recovery procedure must be in the user documentation.
These criteria matter because they tell the manufacturer what level of disturbance is acceptable for operation, measurement, control, outputs, communication, data retention and HMI.
Emission requirements
Clause 7 points radio-frequency emission limits to EN 55011 for Group 1 and Group 2 CLASS A and CLASS B EQUIPMENT. For low-frequency emissions, it directs CLASS B EQUIPMENT with input current up to 16 A to EN 61000-3-2 and EN 61000-3-3, and higher currents up to 75 A per phase to EN 61000-3-12 and EN 61000-3-11. In practice, this tells the manufacturer which emission standard to use for the product’s current rating and equipment class.
User information
Clause 9 requires the manufacturer to state the intended electromagnetic environment, the applicable immunity test requirements, and the emission standards used. If a PERFORMANCE LEVEL or permissible LOSS OF PERFORMANCE applies under immunity conditions, that must also be described in the product specification or user documentation.
What terms does SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 define?
- EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) - the subject of the standard, covering both immunity to disturbance and emissions of disturbance.
- EUT (equipment under test) - the item being tested against the EMC requirements.
- Performance criterion A - the EUT must keep operating as intended, with no loss of function or data.
- Performance criterion B - temporary loss of function is allowed during testing if the EUT recovers automatically afterward.
- Performance criterion C - loss of function is allowed during testing if recovery is automatic or user-restored, and the recovery procedure is documented.
- HMI (human-machine interface) - buttons, tactile panels, displays and audible information used by the operator.
- CONTROLLED ELECTROMAGNETIC ENVIRONMENT - the environment category used for more sheltered places such as analysis, test and service laboratories.
Who uses SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026?
Manufacturers of measurement, control and laboratory equipment use this amendment to choose EMC tests, set performance criteria and write product documentation. EMC test laboratories use it to plan type tests and select the correct disturbance levels for the intended environment.
Quality managers, compliance engineers and technical buyers use it to check whether equipment is intended for BASIC, INDUSTRIAL or CONTROLLED electromagnetic environments, and whether the declared performance under disturbance matches the intended use. It is also relevant for accessories such as sample handling equipment that are used with the covered equipment.
What changed in SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 from the previous edition?
SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 modifies EN IEC 61326-1:2021. The stated technical changes are updates to the immunity requirements, the performance criterion text, and the emission requirements.
It also updates the Introduction, Scope, General requirements, EMC test plan, instructions for use, Annex A, Annex ZA, and adds Annex ZZ for the link to Directive 2014/30/EU.
Which standards are used with SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026?

| CISPR 11 / EN 55011 | Radio-frequency disturbance limits and measurement methods |
What does the SIST EN IEC 61326-1:2021/A11:2026 document contain?
The amendment contains replacement text for the scope, general rules, test planning, immunity criteria, emission clauses and user instructions. It also includes immunity test tables for BASIC, INDUSTRIAL and CONTROLLED environments, plus a separate table for portable equipment powered by battery or from the measured circuit.
Annex ZA gives the European publication mapping for the referenced standards, which helps users identify the correct harmonized versions. Annex ZZ connects the document to Directive 2014/30/EU, which is important for conformity assessment and for understanding how the standard is used in regulatory contexts.

Only in the case of lines > 30 m (called LONG-DISTANCE LINES).
b
Only to equipment containing Reed relays or Hall effect circuits (called magnetically sensitive equipment).

For example, “25/30 cycles” means “25 cycles for 50 Hz test” or “30 cycles for 60 Hz test”.

Only in the case of lines > 3 m.

DC power PORTS intended to be connected to a low voltage DC supply (≤60 V), where secondary circuits (isolated from the
AC mains supply) are not subject to transient overvoltages (i.e. reliably-grounded, capacitively-filtered DC secondary
circuits) shall be regarded as I/O signal/control PORTS.

92 NOTE In general, analysis, test and service laboratories have controlled electromagnetic environments, and personnel in
