1.1   The scope of EN 14511-1:2011 is applicable.
1.2   This European Standard specifies the test conditions for the rating of air conditioners, liquid chilling packages and heat pumps, using either, air, water or brine as heat transfer media, with electrically driven compressors when used for space heating and/or cooling. It also specifies test conditions for heat recovery operation of multisplit systems.

1.1 Es gilt der Anwendungsbereich von EN 14511-1:2011.
1.2 Diese Europäische Norm legt die Bedingungen für die Prüfung der Leistung von Luftkonditionierern, Flüssigkeitskühlsätzen und Wärmepumpen, die Luft, Wasser oder Sole als Wärmeübertrager nutzen, mit elektrisch angetriebenen Verdichtern für die Raumheizung und/oder -kühlung fest. Sie legt ferner die Bedin-gungen für die Prüfung von Multi-Split-Systemen für die Wärmerückgewinnung fest.

1.1   Le domaine d'application de l’EN 14511-2:2011 est applicable.
1.2   La présente Norme européenne spécifie les conditions d'essai pour la détermination des caractéristiques de performance des climatiseurs, groupe refroidisseurs de liquide et pompes à chaleur utilisant l’air, l’eau ou l’eau glycolée comme fluide caloporteur avec compresseur entraîné par moteur électrique, lorsqu'ils sont utilisés pour le chauffage et/ou la réfrigération des locaux. Il spécifie aussi les conditions d'essais pour le fonctionnement de la récupération de chaleur des systèmes multi-split.

1.1 Velja obseg uporabe prEN 14511-2:2009.
1.2 Ta del prEN 14511 določa preskusne pogoje za ocenjevanje zračno in vodno hlajenih klimatskih naprav, enot za tekočinsko hlajenje, toplotnih črpalk zrak-zrak, voda-zrak, zrak-voda in voda-voda z električnimi kompresorji, kadar se uporabljajo za segrevanje in/ali hlajenje prostora. Prav tako določa preskusne pogoje za vračanje toplote sistemov z več razcepi.

1.2   Scope of this Part 2 to EN 12309
This part of EN 12309 deals with the safety of gas-driven sorption heat pumps as defined in prEN 12309 1. Only types B12 for outdoor installations, B13 for outdoor installations, B22 for outdoor installations, B23 for outdoor installations, C12 and C13, C32 and C33 are covered in this European Standard.

1.2   Scope of this Part 7 of EN 12309
This part of EN 12309 deals particularly with the specific provisions of hybrid heating appliances based on gas-driven sorption heat pumps as defined in Part 1.
The heating appliances covered by this European Standard are of a hybrid type, an encased assembly or assemblies combining a direct or indirect-fired sorption heat pump for base load and a peak load condensing boiler with only one flue system, electrical supply cable and human machine interface to the end user. The direct- or indirect-fired sorption heat pump integrated in the hybrid appliances in this European Standard could be intermittent or continuously operating ab or adsorption heat pump.
The control system of hybrid heating appliances decides on the transition between the heat pump operation mode to/from the mixed operation mode (heating by both sorption heat pump as well as the peak boiler) and the direct heating mode (only peak boiler) depending on the heating fluid inlet or return temperature, temperature of brine entering the indoor heat exchanger (evaporator) of the heat pump, the required outlet or supply temperature dependent on the outdoor temperature as well as the target value of the indoor or room temperature. Upon transition from the heat pump operation mode to the mixed operation mode, the control system decides also on the degree of mixing based on the above mentioned parameters.

Scope of this Part 4 to EN 12309
This part of EN 12309 specifies the test methods for gas-fired sorption appliances for heating and/or cooling with a net heat input not exceeding 70 kW.
This part of EN 12309 deals particularly with test protocols and tools to calculate the capacity, the gas utilization efficiency and the electrical power input of the tested appliance. These data can be used in particular to calculate the seasonal efficiency of the appliance.

It deals in particular with the calculation methods of reference seasonal performances in cooling and heating mode for monovalent and bivalent appliances.
NOTE   This European Standard serves as an input for the calculation of the system energy efficiency in heating mode of specific heat pump systems in buildings, as stipulated in EN 15316-4-2.

This document specifies design, type test methods, marking and instruction requirements for cylinder valves with integrated pressure regulators (VIPRs) intended to be fitted to gas cylinders, pressure drums or tubes or used as a main valve for bundles of cylinders that convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
These are requirements for VIPRs that are in addition to those given in the relevant closure standard, for example, in ISO 10297 for cylinder valves, in ISO 17871 for quick-release cylinder valves, in ISO 17879 for self-closing cylinder valves or in ISO 23826 for ball valves. For ISO 17871, these requirements are only applicable to quick-release cylinder valves types B, C, D and E.
NOTE 1        If the pressure regulating system of a VIPR is acting as the primary valve operating mechanism, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826. This also includes designs where closure of the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is obtained by closing the seat of the pressure regulating system.
NOTE 2        If the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is located at the low-pressure side of the pressure regulating system, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826.

The moisture content of solid biofuels (as received) is always reported based on the total mass of the test sample (wet basis).
NOTE            Biomass materials can contain small amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOC) which can evaporate when determining moisture content by oven drying (see References [1] and [2]). The release of such compounds is quite small relative to the overall moisture content as determined by this method and is disregarded in this document.
