IEC 62394:2022 specifies requirements for service diagnostic software to be implemented in products that incorporate a digital interface. It does not specify requirements for carrying out remote diagnosis or for manufacturer-dependent software.
The Service Diagnostic Interface (SDI) requires an external controller (exclusive or general-purpose/PC) into which service diagnostic software can be loaded. Parts of the controller software are standardized while other parts are proprietary to the manufacturers.
To reach a common approach in servicing all products from all manufacturers, it is necessary to standardize specific items to be tested in products and certain aspects of controllers' diagnostic software.
The SDI is based upon ECHONET specification version 2.11, ECHONET Lite specification version 1.13, and APPENDIX Detailed Requirements for ECHONET Device objects Release M, because this interface will be used in future products. The use of this connection and existing communication protocols enable implementation in products at a low cost, with maximum flexibility and efficiency.
The SDI consists of
• specific hardware and software requirements of the device under test (DUT);
• specific requirements of the controller:
– the service software;
– an ECHONET interface;
• the connection between the controller and the DUT.
This document provides the minimal requirements necessary to carry out computerized diagnosis. It covers the standardized software of the controller as well as the standardized software and provisions in the DUT.

However, if the electrical input terminals and the surface of the radiator are accessible, this document can also apply to passive and active sound systems such as loudspeakers, headphones, TV-sets, multi-media devices, personal portable audio devices, automotive sound systems and professional equipment. This document describes only electrical and mechanical measurements that help assess the transfer behaviour of the device under test (DUT). This includes operating the DUT in both the small- and large-signal domains. The influence of the target application's acoustical boundary conditions (e.g. car interior) can also be considered in the physical evaluation of the sound system. Perception and cognitive evaluations of the reproduced sound and the impact of perceived sound quality are outside the scope of this document.

IEC 61966-12-1:2020 is available as IEC 61966-12-1:2020 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 61966-12-1:2020 defines the colour gamut metadata scheme for video systems and similar applications. The metadata can be associated with wide-gamut video colour content or to a piece of equipment to display the content. When associated with content, the colour gamut metadata defines the gamut for which the content was created. It can be used by the display for controlled colour reproduction even if the display’s colour gamut is different from that of the content. When associated with a display, the colour gamut metadata defines the display colour gamut. It can be used during content creation to enable improved colour reproduction. The colour gamut metadata can cover associated colour encoding information, which includes all information required for a controlled colour reproduction, when such information is not provided by the colour encoding specification. The colour gamut metadata scheme provides scalable solutions. For example, more flexible solutions will be used for the professional use, while much simpler solutions will be used for consumer use with easier product implementation. This part of IEC 61966 only defines the colour gamut metadata scheme. Vendor-specific solutions for creation and end-use of this metadata are allowed. IEC 61966-12-1:2020 cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) ITU-R BT.2020 colour spaces added in Clause 6;
b) ITU-R BT.2100 colour spaces added in Clause 6.

IEC 62574:2020 is available as IEC 62574:2020 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 62574:2020 specifies the general channel assignment and the metadata for multichannel audio format. This document, with its channel mapping and labelling content, provides the unified usage of channel assignments for source devices, digital audio interfaces and sink devices. The general channel assignment excludes the specification of the exact position of each loudspeaker. The metadata has the exact position of each loudspeaker; however, since the position of the loudspeaker is different in various surround sound formats, the position information of the metadata is not standardized. It is aimed at consumer applications; it is not targeted at theatrical environments. Up to 65 labels for loudspeaker positions and 15 labels for loudspeakers on the display are specified, which can be used for all current multichannel audio formats. The channel assignment concept is room centric and listener centric. This general channel assignment specifies the position of the loudspeaker as seen from the listener.
IEC 62574:2020 cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) model of channel assignment spaces is changed;
b) definition of channel maps and labels is changed;
c) metadata is newly specified;
d) channel maps and labels from the first edition are included in Annex A.
