Nuts with sizes D WARNING — Thin nuts (style 0) have a reduced loadability compared to regular or high nuts, they are not designed to provide resistance to thread stripping (see ISO 898-2). If in certain cases other specifications are requested, stainless steel grades and property classes can be selected from ISO 3506-2.

This document specifies a method for testing the immunity of passenger cars and commercial vehicles to electrical disturbances from off-vehicle radiation sources, regardless of the vehicle propulsion system (e.g. spark ignition engine, diesel engine, electric motor). The electromagnetic disturbances considered are limited to continuous narrowband electromagnetic fields. While this document refers specifically to passenger cars and commercial vehicles, generalized as “vehicle(s)”, it can readily be applied to other types of vehicles. ISO 11451-1 specifies general test conditions, definitions, practical use, and basic principles of the test procedure. Function performance status classification guidelines for immunity to electromagnetic radiation from an off-vehicle radiation source are given in Annex A.

This document covers the type testing of valve stem seals using a test fixture that is designed and fully defined to be representative of the performance of a valve using similar geometry. This document is applicable to stem seals for multi-turn, linear and quarter turn valves. It is intended to provide comparative type test results confirming the performance of seal manufacturers’ stem seal designs. This document is not intended to replace type testing of complete valve assemblies or valve production testing. Compliance with this document is not intended to be a mandatory qualification test to be completed for a stem seal design prior to testing a valve to the requirements of ISO 15848-1. Compressible seals with and without live loading, elastomers and pressure energized seals are in the scope of this document. Corrosion tests are not included in this document.

This document specifies a procedure for preparing the simulated body fluid (SBF) and a test method for use as an initial screening tool in the evaluation of apatite formation on the surfaces of bone-contacting implant materials. NOTE 1 The results of this SBF test (see REF Section_sec_7 \r \h Clause 7) alone do not establish bone-bonding ability. The test can be used along with other in vitro and in vivo confirmatory tests to establish an implant material’s ability to bond with bone tissue in vivo. This document is limited to an assessment of the in vitro apatite-forming ability of bulky solid materials used for bone-contacting implants and is not intended to be used to evaluate this ability of porous materials, particulate materials or solute molecules or ions. NOTE 2 Porous materials are excluded from test specimens because they require a large volume of SBF due to high surface area, and often have difficulty in penetration of SBF into their porous bodies. Furthermore, analysis of the inner surfaces of porous materials is difficult by the method described in this document.

1.1 This document specifies four rapid methods for estimating the degree of, or detecting the presence of, hidden insect infestation with sampling (see Clauses 4 to 6) or without sampling (on-site probing, see Clause 7) in a cereal or pulse lot. NOTE The characteristics leading to the choice of rapid method are summarized in ISO 6639-1:2025, Table 1. 1.2 The method by determination of carbon dioxide production (see Clause 4) is applicable to testing whole grains. It does not apply to testing: a) finely ground grain products, as there is a risk that particles of material will be sucked up with air samples; or b) grain products with moisture contents greater than a mass fraction of 15 %, because of the risk of carbon dioxide produced by the products themselves and by microorganisms interfering with the results. In addition, the method does not apply to the rapid testing of grain products onto which carbon dioxide has already been adsorbed in large quantities (e.g. grain stored in a confined atmosphere, when there are clear external indications of heavy infestation). The method is applicable to coarsely milled or kibbled grain products, provided that they have been sieved before testing to remove fine particles and loose insects. The method does not permit the presence of dead adults. 1.3 The whole grain flotation method (see Clause 5) is applicable to detecting hidden infestation in most cereals and pulses but only on a qualitative basis. 1.4 The acoustic method operating on a grain sample (see Clause 6) is applicable to detecting living (and active) insects (larvae and adults before their emergence from a kernel) inside grains in a sample. It does not permit dead adults and larvae or living eggs and pupae (non-feeding stages) to be detected. 1.5 The on-site assessment acoustic method (see Clause 7) is applicable to detecting adult insects and larvae feeding on the grain inside without taking samples. It does not apply to detecting inactive stages (eggs, nymph and moulting).
