Identical adoption of future IEC/IEEE 63184 into EN IEC/IEEE 63184

IEC 63203-204-2:2025 specifies a test method for e-textiles for measuring the change of electrical resistance during bending of the knee and elbow joints. It uses a dynamic method. This document is applicable to e-textiles.

IEC 61788-27:2025 specifies a test method for the twist pitch measurement of Nb‑Ti/Cu and Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconductors by an untwisting method.
The test method is applicable to Nb‑Ti/Cu and Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconducting wires with monolithic structures, which have either a round cross section with a diameter ranging from 0,2 mm to 2 mm or a rectangular cross section that is equivalent in area to the round cross‑sectional wires. These wires possess a filament diameter ranging from 6 µm to 200 µm, a twist pitch between 5 mm and 50 mm, and a matrix of copper or copper alloy. This document uses nitric acid to remove the matrix (copper or copper alloy), so the surface of the composite superconducting wire can be plated with a material that is dissolvable by nitric acid.
Though uncertainty can increase, the method can apply to Nb‑Ti/Cu or Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconducting wires when the parameters of cross-sectional area, filament diameter and twist pitch are out of the limit.
The test method specified in this document is expected to apply to other types of composite superconducting wires after some appropriate modifications.

This document provides guidelines for the characterization of waterlogged archaeological wood to support decision-making processes for its preservation.
This document can be applied for the management of wood discovered in waterlogged environments, including terrestrial and aquatic (marine and freshwater) sites, as a basis for designing conservation strategies (e.g. reburial, in situ preservation, post-excavation storage). In the case of composite artefacts made of wood and other materials, this document is applicable only for the wooden components. Methods for conservation, site protection and monitoring for reburial as well as in situ preservation are beyond the scope of this document.

IEC 60404-18:2025 defines the general principle and technical details of the methods of measurement of the DC magnetic properties of permanent magnet materials in an open magnetic circuit using a superconducting magnet (SCM).
This method is applicable to permanent magnet materials, such as those specified in IEC 60404‑8‑1, the properties of which are presumed homogeneous throughout their volume.
There are two methods:
- the SCM-vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) method;
- the SCM-extraction method.

IEC 62933-4-2:2025 defines the requirements for evaluating and reporting the negative impact on the environment caused by the failure of a cell, flow cell, battery or flow battery in the accumulation subsystem of a battery energy storage system (BESS).
The batteries within this scope used in a BESS are classified according to the type of their electrolyte. These electrolyte types are aqueous, non-aqueous or solid.
The environmental impacts directly caused by the failure of other components of the BESS are not within the scope of this document.

IEC 62282-3-202:2025 provides performance test methods specialized for the thermal and electrical characteristics of an energy management system to effectively share the heat and power of networked small stationary fuel cell power systems. IEC 62037-1:2025 deals with the general requirements and measuring methods for intermodulation (IM) level measurement of passive RF and microwave components, which can be caused by the presence of two or more transmitting signals. The test procedures given in this document give the general requirements and measurement methods required to characterize the level of unwanted IM signals using two transmitting signals. The IEC 62037 series addresses the measurement of PIM but does not cover the long-term reliability of a product with reference to its performance. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2021. This edition constitutes a technical revision.
This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) added clarification that PIM generation is typically frequency dependent and noted that testing with swept or multiple fixed frequencies often provides more accurate results;
b) identified multi-port PIM analyzers as a possible test set-up topography;
c) added specification that test power level does not exceed the power handling capability of the DUT;
d) updated test specification to include missing parameters needed to properly define a PIM test;

This document specifies requirements and test methods for the physical properties of powered toothbrushes in order to promote the safety of these products for their intended use. There are different technologies of powered toothbrushes. Common features of those powered toothbrushes to which this document applies are: — a battery; — a motor; — a mechanical or magnetic drive system; — a moving brush head with tufted filaments. Powered toothbrushes can have a moving brush head with different motions (e.g. oscillating-rotating, side-by-side), frequencies and velocities. These types of electric toothbrushes are tested for safety in use by means of appropriate test procedures or clinical studies The requirements listed in this document apply to all types of powered toothbrushes. However, there is a possibility that some requirements are not applicable for all types. For example, brush head plate retention can only be applied if the brush has a head portion that can detach from the brush shaft. In addition, for the filaments end-rounding requirements, this document does not apply to filament types that are very thin (less than 0,1 mm outside diameter) or have no sharp edges (e.g. tapered, feathered, with split tips or spherical cap) or non-synthetic filaments, where applying the end-rounding process is inappropriate or impossible. This document is not applicable to other types of powered oral hygiene devices (such as powered interdental brushes) or manual toothbrushes.

IEC 63185:2025 relates to a measurement method for complex permittivity of dielectric substrates at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. This method has been developed to evaluate the dielectric properties of low-loss materials used in microwave and millimeter-wave circuits and devices. It uses higher-order modes of a balanced-type circular disk resonator and provides broadband measurements of dielectric substrates by using one resonator, where the effect of excitation holes and that of fringing fields are taken into account accurately on the basis of the mode-matching analysis. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2020. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) the upper limit of the applicable frequency range has been extended from 110 GHz to 170 GHz; b) circular disk resonators used for the measurements now include one with waveguide interfaces; c) in calculating the complex permittivity from the measured resonant properties, the fringing fields are now accurately taken into account based on the mode-matching analysis.

IEC 62037-8:2025 defines a radiated passive intermodulation (PIM) test to determine PIM levels generated by a device or object when it is exposed to RF radiation. This test can be conducted on any material or object and is not limited to devices designed to propagate RF signals. This test can be conducted as either a near field or far field test as defined by the test specification in an outdoor test site or in an anechoic test chamber. This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2021. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: a) added safety warning to verify that transmitters are switched off before connecting or disconnecting any component; b) corrected formula for calculating directivity; c) corrected antenna orientation labels in Figure 6; d) added clarification that PIM tests reports shall include maximum PIM and VSWR values.
