This document specifies a rapid method for the determination of the oil and water contents in oilseeds using pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).
It is applicable to rapeseeds, linseeds and sunflower seeds with a water content less than 10 % and soya beans with a water content less than 14 %. For seeds with higher water contents, drying is necessary before the water and oil content can be determined by pulsed NMR.
NOTE 1 This method has been tested with rapeseeds, soya beans, linseeds and sunflower seeds. This does not, however, preclude its applicability to other commercial seeds whose oil is liquid at the temperature of measurement.
NOTE 2 The reproducibility values obtained are generally higher than those obtained by the reference methods (see ISO 659 and ISO 665) because they depend on the variability between the instruments and on that existing between the calibrations, which depends on the measurement accuracy of the reference methods.
NOTE 3 The results of the comparison test between different magnets and different volumes of seed samples (see Annex B) are in coherence with the results of the interlaboratory test (see Annex A).

This document specifies and gives guidelines for a standard test method for the assessment, using human participants, of thermal comfort in vehicles. It is not restricted to any particular vehicle but provides the general principles that allow assessment and evaluation. The method can be used to determine a measure of the performance of a vehicle for conditions of interest, in terms of whether it provides thermal comfort to people or not. This can be used in vehicle development and evaluation. This document is applicable to all types of vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks, off-road vehicles, trains, aircraft, ships, submarines, and to the cabins of cranes and similar spaces. It applies where people are enclosed in a vehicle and when they are exposed to outside conditions. For those exposed to outside conditions, such as riders of bicycles or motorcycles, drivers of open sports cars and operators of fork lift trucks without cabins, vehicle speed and weather conditions can dominate responses. The principles of assessment, however, still apply. This document applies to both passengers and operators of vehicles where its application does not interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle. It describes the principles of the assessment and evaluation of thermal comfort, including the use of test methods and trials. It also describes subjective methods that can be used in assessment.

This document is also applicable to units of more than 50 kg, usually called “big bags” or “supersacks”. The cases are generally made of cardboard of appropriate strength and the big bags are made of suitable plastic material.
1.2 This document is also applicable to the selection and preparation of a sufficiently representative sample of the consignment, which is intended:
a) to serve as a basis for an offer for sale;
b) for examination to verify that the instant coffee to be offered for sale satisfies the producer’s sales specification;
c) for examination to determine one or more of the characteristics of the instant coffee for technical, commercial, administrative and arbitration purposes;
d) for retention as a reference sample for use, if required, in litigation.
1.3 This document is applicable to all types of instant coffee, as defined in ISO 3509, contained in all types of units with liners, with the exception stated in 1.4.
1.4 For bulk density and particle size, this document is applicable to spray-dried powder and freeze-dried instant coffees only, as defined in ISO 3509, due to the intrinsic fragility of particles of agglomerated instant coffee, which leads to greater breakdown and headspace in the final packed units for the consumer.

This document is applicable to electronic cigarettes and similar vapour producing devices intended to produce aerosol from e-liquids for consumption by inhalation. It is applicable to devices intended for use with e-liquids. This document is also applicable to e-liquid containers.
This document:
— specifies the considerations and approach required to establish levels of extractable and leachable substances in vaping products, e-liquid cartridges, and e-liquid refill containers;
— specifies a risk-based approach to enable manufacturers to understand the risk associated with the levels of extractable and leachable substances;
— describes an approach to toxicological risk assessment that contributes to an understanding of whether leachable compound levels are within acceptable limits over the anticipated shelf life of the product;
— builds on the requirements of CEN/TS 17287:2019, 5.1 [10] Material (migration) by detailing an analytical and toxicological approach to establish that “no e-liquid contact material shall transfer constituents into the e-liquid at levels that endanger human health”
— does not consider that substances may also transfer directly to the user via direct contact with components as this consideration is included in CEN/TS 17287;
— does not specify all testing necessary to establish the shelf life of products.
