This document specifies a procedure for determining the emissivity at room temperature of the surfaces of glass and coated glass. The procedure, being based on spectrophotometric specular reflectance measurements at near normal incidence on materials that are non-transparent in the infrared region, is not applicable to glazing components with at least one of the following characteristics: a) with rough or structured surfaces where the incident radiation is diffusely reflected; b) with curved surfaces where the incident radiation is regularly reflected at angles unsuitable to reach the detector while using specular reflectance accessories; c) infrared transparent. However, it can be applied with caution to any glazing component provided its surfaces are flat and non-diffusing (see non-diffusing glazing component) and it is non-transparent in the infrared region (see glazing component non-transparent in the infrared region). Although transmittance measurements are included in this document, they are only necessary to check if the specimen is non-transparent in the infrared region in the context of this document (see glazing component non-transparent in the infrared region). If the specimen is transparent in the infrared region, this document is not applicable.

This document specifies: a) the determination of mass gain; b) the surface inspection of products of hafnium when corrosion tested in water at 360 °C. This document is applicable to hot-work or cold-work hafnium rods, wires, plates, sheets and strips. This method has been widely used in the development of hafnium products. It is applicable for use in its entirety to the extent specified for a product acceptance test, rather than merely a means of assessing performance in service of pressurized water reactor.

This document specifies an instrumental method for the routine determination of the specific electrical conductivity in an aqueous extract of soil, sludge, biowaste or waste. The determination is carried out to obtain an indication of the content of water-soluble electrolytes in a sample. This document is applicable to all types of air-dried samples of soil, sludge, biowaste and waste.

This document specifies methods for the calculation of the dry matter fraction of sludge, sludge products, treated biowaste, soil and waste for which the results of performed analysis are calculated to the dry matter basis. Depending on the nature and origin of the sample, the calculation is based on a determination of the dry residue (method A) or a determination of the water content (methods A and B). It applies to samples containing more than 1 % (mass fraction) of dry residue or more than 1 % (mass fraction) of water. Method A applies to sludge, sludge products, treated biowaste, soil and solid waste. Method B applies to liquid waste and to samples which are suspected or known to contain volatiles except for water.

This document provides guidance on how to prepare new and old protocols for cryptographic algorithm migration and defines auxiliary cryptographic algorithms to be used for migration purposes. This document specifies a general wrapper protocol that provides authentication, integrity and confidentiality (encryption) protection for other protocols. This wrapper protocol includes a migration path for cryptographic algorithms allowing for smooth migration to stronger cryptographic algorithms as such requirements evolve. This will allow migration to quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms. Protected protocols can then be developed without taking security and cryptographic algorithms into consideration. This document also includes some protocols to be protected by the wrapper protocol primarily for support of public-key infrastructure (PKI). Other specifications, e.g., Recommendations or International Standards, may also develop protocols designed to be protected by the wrapper protocol.

This document specifies performance requirements for surrogate small child targets (SCT) used to assess the system detection and activation performance of active safety systems and automated driving systems (ADS). This document specifies the properties of targets that represent two small children in terms of size, shape, reflection properties, etc. for testing purposes. The two targets represent a 9- to 12-month-old infant and a two-year-old toddler. This document addresses the detection requirements for the targets in terms of sensing technologies commonly in use at the time of publication, and where possible, anticipated future sensing technologies. It also addresses methodologies to verify the target response properties to these sensors. This document does not address the test procedures in terms of speed, position, or timing of events. Performance criteria for the active safety system being evaluated are also not addressed. NOTE Related test procedures using small child targets according to this document can be found in ISO 4273 and ISO 23374-1.

This document establishes commonly accepted control objectives, controls and guidelines for implementing measures to protect personally identifiable information (PII) in line with the privacy principles in ISO/IEC 29100 for the public cloud computing environment. In particular, this document specifies guidelines based on ISO/IEC 27002:2022, taking into consideration the regulatory requirements for the protection of PII which can be applicable within the context of the information security risk environment(s) of a provider of public cloud services. This document deals with legal communication, and it builds on the foundation for plain language in ISO 24495-1. It establishes guidelines and techniques to help authors make sure that readers can readily understand legal communication and exercise their legal rights and obligations. This document specifies a reference method for the determination of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions into indoor air from floor covering adhesives and products used for flooring installation. This method is used to determine volatile organic compounds, semi-volatile organic compounds, and volatile aldehydes. It is based on the use of a test chamber and subsequent analysis of an air sample for organic compounds by GC-MS respectively HPLC. The main purpose of the test procedure is to obtain relevant performance data for the classification of flooring adhesives and products used for the installation of floor coverings with respect to low VOC emissions during the use phase of the flooring.

This document provides procedures for monitoring the dose to the skin, the extremities, and the lens of the eye. It gives guidance on how to decide if such dosemeters are needed and to ensure that individual monitoring is appropriate to the nature of the exposure, taking practical considerations into account. This document specifies procedures for individual monitoring of radiation exposure of the skin of the body, extremities (skin of the hands, fingers, wrists, forearms including elbow, lower leg including patella, feet and ankles), and lens of the eye in planned exposure situations. It covers practices which involve a risk of exposure to photons in the range of 8 keV to 10 MeV, electrons and positrons in the range of 0,07 MeV to 1,2 MeV mean beta energies being equivalent to 0,22 MeV and 3,6 MeV beta maximum energy - in accordance to the ISO 6980 series, and neutrons in the range of thermal to 20 MeV. This document gives guidance for the design of a monitoring programme to ensure compliance with legal individual dose limits. It refers to the appropriate operational dose quantities, and it gives guidance on the type and frequency of individual monitoring and the type and positioning of the dosemeter. Finally, different approaches to assess and analyse skin, extremity, and lens of the eye doses are given. It is not in the scope of this document to consider exposure due to alpha radiation fields. NOTE 1 The requirements for the monitoring of the occupational exposure may be given in national regulations. NOTE 2 Dose to the lens of the eye due to intake of tritium is not in the scope of this document. Moreover, the situation of the workers that work in contaminated atmosphere and can have alpha and/or radon eye lens dose is also not in the scope.

This document specifies a procedure for the determination of fluorine in copper and zinc sulfide concentrates by sodium hydroxide fusion and fluoride ion selective electrode (FISE) detection. Fluoride ions are leached from the sodium hydroxide fusion and presented to the FISE. Potential interfering ions are masked by the use of a complexing agent and control of solution pH. If the aluminium content in the concentrate is up to a mass fraction of 4,5 %, there is no effect of aluminium in this method. However, if the aluminium content in the concentrate exceeds a mass fraction of 4,5 %, there is a possibility that it can affect the analytical results. The method is applicable to fluorine in the following ranges: — copper concentrates: mass fraction of 0,008 % to 0,3 %; — zinc concentrates: mass fraction of 0,005 % to 0,1 %. The results of the trueness test can be found in Annex C.

This document specifies the laboratory test method for screening anti-fouling paints in a flow-through system using algae as the test organism. It is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 21716-1, which specifies the general requirements of the test methods described in the other parts of the ISO 21716 series. The purpose of the test specified in this document is to determine the difference in colour of algae on painted test panels compared with algae on inert non-toxic control panels under the test conditions.

This document specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification is qualified based on a pre-production welding test. This document is applicable to arc welding, gas welding, beam welding, resistance welding, stud welding and friction welding of metallic materials.

This document specifies the system layer of the coding. It was developed principally to support the combination of the video and audio coding methods defined in Parts 2 and 3 of ISO/IEC 13818. The system layer supports six basic functions: 1) the synchronization of multiple compressed streams on decoding; 2) the interleaving of multiple compressed streams into a single stream; 3) the initialization of buffering for decoding start up; 4) continuous buffer management; 5) time identification; 6) multiplexing and signalling of various components in a system stream. A Rec. ITU-T H.222.0 | ISO/IEC 13818-1 multiplexed bit stream is either a transport stream or a program stream. Both streams are constructed from PES packets and packets containing other necessary information. Both stream types support multiplexing of video and audio compressed streams from one program with a common time base. The transport stream additionally supports the multiplexing of video and audio compressed streams from multiple programs with independent time bases. For almost error-free environments the program stream is generally more appropriate, supporting software processing of program information. The transport stream is more suitable for use in environments where errors are likely. A Rec. ITU-T H.222.0 | ISO/IEC 13818-1 multiplexed bit stream, whether a transport stream or a program stream, is constructed in two layers: the outermost layer is the system layer, and the innermost is the compression layer. The system layer provides the functions necessary for using one or more compressed data streams in a system. The video and audio parts of this Specification define the compression coding layer for audio and video data. Coding of other types of data is not defined by this Specification, but is supported by the system layer provided that the other types of data adhere to the constraints defined in 2.7.

This document establishes the specification of the Basic image interchange format (BIIF). This document provides a foundation for interoperability in the interchange of imagery and imagery-related data among applications. It also provides a detailed description of the overall structure of the format, as well as specification of the valid data and format for all fields defined with BIIF. Annex C contains a Model Profile of BIIF in tables to assist in profile development. The scope and field of application of this document includes the capability to perpetuate a proven interchange capability in support of commercial and government imagery, Programmer’s Imaging Kernel System (PIKS) data, and other imagery technology domains in that priority order. This document specifies requirements for dried lime (Citrus aurantifolia (Christm.) Swingle, Citrus latifolia Tanaka, family Rutaceae) in whole, slices and ground form. This document is also applicable to lime that has been dehydrated by the sun and artificially dried lime. Recommendations relating to storage and transport conditions are given in Annex A.

This document specifies a method for the determination of the gross calorific value of coal and coke at constant volume and at the reference temperature of 25 °C in a combustion vessel calorimeter calibrated by combustion of certified benzoic acid. The result obtained is the gross calorific value of the analysis sample at constant volume with all the water of the combustion products as liquid water. In practice, fuel is burned at constant (atmospheric) pressure and the water is not condensed but is removed as vapour with the flue gases. Under these conditions, the operative heat of combustion is the net calorific value of the fuel at constant pressure. The net calorific value at constant volume can also be used; formulae are given for calculating both values. General principles and procedures for the calibrations and the fuel tests are specified in the main text, whereas those pertaining to the use of a particular type of calorimetric instrument are described in Annexes A to C. Annex D contains checklists for performing calibration and fuel tests using specified types of calorimeters. Annex E gives examples illustrating some of the calculations. Annex F provides guidance around safe use, maintenance and testing of the calorimeter combustion vessel.
