IEC 61788-27:2025 specifies a test method for the twist pitch measurement of Nb‑Ti/Cu and Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconductors by an untwisting method.
The test method is applicable to Nb‑Ti/Cu and Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconducting wires with monolithic structures, which have either a round cross section with a diameter ranging from 0,2 mm to 2 mm or a rectangular cross section that is equivalent in area to the round cross‑sectional wires. These wires possess a filament diameter ranging from 6 µm to 200 µm, a twist pitch between 5 mm and 50 mm, and a matrix of copper or copper alloy. This document uses nitric acid to remove the matrix (copper or copper alloy), so the surface of the composite superconducting wire can be plated with a material that is dissolvable by nitric acid.
Though uncertainty can increase, the method can apply to Nb‑Ti/Cu or Nb‑Sn/Cu composite superconducting wires when the parameters of cross-sectional area, filament diameter and twist pitch are out of the limit.
The test method specified in this document is expected to apply to other types of composite superconducting wires after some appropriate modifications.

IEC 63185:2025 relates to a measurement method for complex permittivity of dielectric substrates at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies. This method has been developed to evaluate the dielectric properties of low-loss materials used in microwave and millimeter-wave circuits and devices. It uses higher-order modes of a balanced-type circular disk resonator and provides broadband measurements of dielectric substrates by using one resonator, where the effect of excitation holes and that of fringing fields are taken into account accurately on the basis of the mode-matching analysis. IEC 61340-4-11:2025 specifies the electrostatic testing, design and safe use requirements for composite intermediate bulk containers (IBC) intended for use in hazardous areas. Composite IBC are often filled with flammable liquids which can create an explosive atmosphere in the inner receptacle. The design requirements for composite IBC intended for such use are defined in 7.3.4.5 of IEC TS 60079-32-1:2013. The test procedures described in this document can be used by manufacturers, suppliers and product users for product qualification and compliance verification of new and reconditioned composite IBC. Additionally, the requirements of this document can be used for testing the electrostatic properties of composite IBC, independent of any inspection periods. Precautions regarding the use of composite IBC (e.g., stirring, cleaning etc.) are defined in 7.3.4.5 of IEC TS 60079-32-1:2013. It focuses on the definitions of the various parameters that are relevant for such systems.
The guidance for design given in this document and accompanying CEN/TR 16798-4 are mainly applicable to mechanical supply and/or exhaust ventilation systems. Natural ventilation systems or natural parts of hybrid ventilation systems are not covered by this document.
Applications for residential ventilation are not covered in this document. Performance of ventilation systems in residential buildings is covered in EN 15665 and CEN/TR 14788.
The classification uses different categories. For some values, examples are given and, for requirements, typical ranges with default values are presented. The default values are given in Annex B and a template for national specification is given in Annex A. It is important that the classification is always appropriate to the type of building and its intended use, and that the basis of the classification is explained if the examples given in this document are not used.
NOTE 1   Different standards can express the categories for the same parameters in a different way, and also the category symbols can be different.
Table 1 shows the relative position of this document within the set of EPB standards in the context of the modular structure as set out in EN ISO 52000-1.
NOTE 2   In CEN ISO/TR 52000-2 the same Table can be found, with, for each module, the numbers of the relevant EPB standards and accompanying technical reports that are published or in preparation.

This document specifies a test method, including the degradation of certain side-chain fluorinated polymers during the extraction with simultaneous alkaline hydrolysis, and using liquid chromatography (LC) and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) for identification and quantification of certain per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Table 2 indicates a list of target PFAS which can be analysed with this document. PFAS of Table 2 marked with the footnote e) and footnote f) undergo alkaline hydrolysis and only their per- or polyfluorinated degradation products such as PFOA or n:2 fluorotelomer alcohols (n:2 FTOHs, n = 4, 6, 8, 10) can be determined.
Through the methods outlined in the informative Annex E and Annex F, free n:2 FTOHs, PFOA and non-polymeric PFAS of Table 2 marked with the footnote e) and footnote f), that are not stable to alkaline hydrolysis, can be identified and quantified.
Certain side-chain fluorinated polymers release n:2 FTOHs (n = 4, 6, 8, 10) under the described extraction conditions. Since these side-chain fluorinated polymers can be PFOA or C9-C14 PFCA-related substances restricted by the EU-POPs [1] or EU-REACH [2] regulations, the amounts of released n:2 FTOHs can be used to indirectly assess whether the concentration of the aforementioned side-chain fluorinated polymers exceed limits for PFOA or C9-C14 PFCA-related substances.
This document is also applicable to the determination of further PFAS, provided that the method is validated with the additional substances and that these PFAS are stable to alkaline hydrolysis and dehydrofluorination.

4.1 Different electroplating systems can be corroded under the same conditions for the same length of time. Differences in the average values of the radius or half-width or of penetration into an underlying metal layer are significant measures of the relative corrosion resistance of the systems. Thus, if the pit radii are substantially higher on samples with a given electroplating system, when compared to other systems, a tendency for earlier failure of the former by formation of visible pits is indicated. If penetration into the semi-bright nickel layer is substantially higher, a tendency for earlier failure by corrosion of basis metal is evident.

1.2 This practice describes a basic procedure of ultrasonically inspecting turbine and generator rotor forgings. It does not restrict the use of other ultrasonic methods such as reference block calibrations when required by the applicable procurement documents nor is it intended to restrict the use of new and improved ultrasonic test equipment and methods as they are developed.  
1.3 This practice is intended to provide a means of inspecting cylindrical forgings so that the inspection sensitivity at the forging center line or bore surface is constant, independent of the forging or bore diameter. To this end, inspection sensitivity multiplication factors have been computed from theoretical analysis, with experimental verification. These are plotted in Fig. 1 (bored rotors) and Fig. 2 (solid rotors), for a true inspection frequency of 2.25 MHz, and an acoustic velocity of 2.30 in./s × 105 in./s [5.85 cm/s × 105 cm/s]. Means of converting to other sensitivity levels are provided in Fig. 3. (Sensitivity multiplication factors for other frequencies may be derived in accordance with X1.1 and X1.2 of Appendix X1.)

1.4 Considerable verification data for this method have been generated which indicate that even under controlled conditions very significant uncertainties may exist in estimating natural discontinuities in terms of minimum equivalent size flat-bottom holes. The possibility exists that the estimated minimum areas of natural discontinuities in terms of minimum areas of the comparison flat-bottom holes may differ by 20 dB (factor of 10) in terms of actual areas of natural discontinuities. This magnitude of inaccuracy does not apply to all results but should be recognized as a possibility. Rigid control of the actual frequency used, the coil bandpass width if tuned instruments are used, and so forth, tend to reduce the overall inaccuracy which is apt to develop.  
1.5 This practice for inspection applies to solid cylindrical forgings having outer diameters of not less than 2.5 in. [64 mm] nor greater than 100 in. [2540 mm]. It also applies to cylindrical forgings with concentric cylindrical bores having wall thicknesses of 2.5 [64 mm] in. or greater, within the same outer diameter limits as for solid cylinders. For solid sections less than 15 in. [380 mm] in diameter and for bored cylinders of less than 7.5 in. [190 mm] wall thickness the transducer used for the inspection will be different than the transducer used for larger sections.
